Anna Prenestini

Anna Prenestini is associate professor of business economics at the University of Milan, Department of Economics, Management, and Quantitative Methods, where she is a member of the research commission. Among other posts, she holds, she is reviewer of quality assessment of the international masters program in management of innovation and entrepreneurship, and coordinator of the course on performance management of control systems, quality assessment, and reviewer of the masters program in management of healthcare organizations and services, in which she coordinates the course on strategy and performance management of healthcare organizations and services. She is founding member of the executive board of the Milan School of Management, University of Milan. Her areas of teaching and research interest are management of healthcare organizations, with a focus on strategy and strategic control, performance management, organizational structure and change management, operations management and inpatient logistics, organizational culture, and clinician engagement. She has coordinated and headed research projects, training and tutorship programs in public and private healthcare organizations.

She has authored over 65 scientific publication and  spoken at 25 national and international academic conferences. She has won numerous awards, including Best International Paper (2012, Academy of Management), Best Paper in Healthcare Management 2015 (2016, AIES, Associazione italiana di economia sanitaria, Italian Health Economics Association), Premio di Ricerca (2018, Department of Economics, Management, and Quantitative Methods, University of Milan). In 2013 she was visiting professor at the University of Toronto, Canada. She is co-editor of the journal MECOSAN and editorial administrator of Health Services Management Research (SAGE Publications). In 2020 she joined the board of directors of AIES. She is a member of numerous scientific societies, including AIDEA, SIDREA, EHMA, IRSPM, AOM, EURAM. Since 2005 she is professor at the Bocconi School of Management, where she holds courses on executive training and networking of healthcare organization executive boards. She is researcher at the Centre for Research on Health and Social Care Management (CERGAS).
