Who is HEAD?
Head is a research and advanced training center specialized in the healthcare sector, unique in the national landscape, built around the qualified multidisciplinary skills in business management, economics, law, bioengineering, organizational psychology, public health, and health policy.
Why HEAD?
Healthcare is a sector characterized by natural and intense dynamism: the health needs and the roles of patients, professionals, companies, and those who govern them are never static in the landscape of modern healthcare, but are constantly evolving and influenced by ongoing social, cultural, and political transformations.
Because in healthcare, what makes the difference in the success of an organization is the leadership.
Leaders who possess the ability to read needs, coordinate, remain flexible, and integrate—qualities that must be developed, now more than ever, through continuous training, sharing best practices, a positive approach toward technological innovation, knowledge of the potential of data management, and empowerment of planning, monitoring, and managing critical issues.
Thus, Head was created to work closely with healthcare systems and at the “floor” level of healthcare organizations and enterprises, or at their “decision-making rooms.”
To transmit to professionals and leaders of healthcare organizations the ability to develop these qualities, to provide them with a systemic and innovative vision on topics such as strategy, organization, and personnel, to blend specialized skills of various kinds with strong soft skills, and to develop effective management styles grounded in a structured method of company management.
To achieve these goals, Head has developed that “lateral thinking” necessary to work on the new organizational and managerial paradigms of modern healthcare (value-based healthcare, patient-centered, focused hospital, population health management, institutional share of voice, proactive healthcare, co-production, concordance, etc.), engaging with leading organizations nationally and internationally that represent the various “angles” driving transformations in the healthcare sector.
Because HEAD is a “boutique” where tailored solutions are created for those who want to conduct applied research with methodological rigor and international standards, for those who need dedicated consulting, and for those who seek an impactful and growth-oriented training experience, far beyond usual content transfer.

The “HEAD” setting
HEAD is part of a great institution, the University of Milan. La Statale. It has set the standard in Italian public healthcare, managing the research of Italy’s first IRCCS (Scientific Institute for Research, Hospitalization, and Healthcare) for production and innovation (Ospedale Maggiore – Policlinico di Milano), and has a thirty-year history of training and research in healthcare economics and management. With numerous prestigious locations and classrooms, it caters to any training and conference needs, from representative spaces for major institutional events to those for smaller brainstorming sessions, workshops, experiential learning, and individual training and coaching.
HEAD has a solid administrative team, well-prepared to address the most challenging issues related to managing the “red tape” of training, consulting, and research processes. It is capable of finding intelligent solutions to the persistent (and tedious) problems of bureaucracy.
