Carlo Fiorio earned a PhD in economics (2004) and a MSc in economics and mathematical economics from the London School of Economics and Political Science, and a graduate degree in public finances (2001) from the University of Pavia. He is currently full professor of finances at the Department of Economics, Management, and Quantitative Methods, University of Milan, where he is also the department director. He is a senior researcher at the Istituto per la Ricerca Valutativa sulle Politiche Pubbliche [IRVAPP-FBK, Research Institute for the Evaluation of Public Policies – Fondazione Bruno Kessler] and research fellow at the Carlo F. Dodena Centre for Research on Social Dynamics and Public Policy (Welfare State and Taxation Unit), Bocconi University, Milan. His fields of interest include public economics, applied econometrics, healthcare economics, and disparity analysis.
