She holds degrees in Pharmaceutical Chemistry and Technology and in Pharmacy, and earned a PhD in Pharmaceutical Chemistry, with a focus on Technology. She is a professor at the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences at the University of Milan, where she teaches drug and health product technology and legislation in the degree programmes in Pharmacy, Pharmaceutical Chemistry and Technology, and Pharmaceutical Biotechnology.
She has served as Director of the Specialization School in Hospital Pharmacy at the University of Milan and as President of the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences; she is currently Director of the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences.
She is a member of the Secretariat for the Evaluation and Marketing Authorization of Medicinal Products at AIFA, the Technical Committee for Nutrition and Animal Health – Advisory Section for Veterinary Medicinal Products at the Ministry of Health, and the technical working group established by the Ministry of Health for the revision of the Italian Official Pharmacopoeia. She also serves as a member of the Territorial Ethics Committee CET1.
She is a member of the Board of Directors of the Order of Pharmacists of the Provinces of Milan, Lodi, Monza and Brianza; President of SIFAP (Italian Society of Compounding Pharmacists); Vice President of AFI (Pharmaceutical Industry Association); and President of SITELF (formerly ADRITELF).
She is the author of numerous publications in the fields of pharmaceutical legislation and technology and has delivered numerous invited lectures, oral presentations, and posters at national and international conferences.
Her research focuses on the technological aspects of medicinal products, particularly transdermal and buccal pharmaceutical forms, as well as on medical devices and cosmetics. She is particularly interested in the regulatory aspects of drug manufacturing and dispensing, as well as in the transposition of European directives concerning medicinal and health products.
Her research also covers topics related to the pharmacy profession. She is the author of several monographs on pharmaceutical legislation and of a textbook adopted by many Italian universities.
